It took more than a snap, but the Russos have officially put the finishing touches on Avengers: Endgame at last.
The culmination of so much storytelling in the Marvel Cinematic Universe has been in the making for a decade, so it was understandably a hard process that wrapped up all the necessary work.
The filmmaking brothers shared on Twitter on Friday (March 8) that they’d officially ‘ pictured – locked ‘ the sequel – meaning it’s now ready to be delivered to the cinemas for your pleasure.
Unfortunately for them, it looks like they’ll now have to close the ice cream sundae bar they’ve built into their editing suite. We can’t muster up much sympathy though since they’ve already seen Avengers: Endgame multiple times, while the rest of us have to wait over a month.
It’s been technically just under a year since Avengers: Infinity War traumatized viewers with Thanos ‘ finger snap, but so much has happened in that short span.
While it initially looked like the Russos wrapped up last autumn’s filming with the most impressive cast in Marvel’s history, word spread rapidly that many of them would be called back for more reshoots.
Those reshoots took place in January, with only four months until release! Soon, Chris Hemsworth was hopping on a transatlantic flight with his Men in Black co-star Tessa Thompson to split time between the two movies.
