Joe’s Music has come under fire for their recent request.

A Joe’s Music Ohio music store has come under fire because it hesitates to sell its merchandise to supporters of Trump. On his window, the owner, who was only identified as Joe, hung a sign denouncing the practices of right wingers. The shop’s owner then shared a picture of the sign on social media. Since then, the original post has been removed.

The sign claims that the owner feels like taking money from Trump supporters reflects his own personal morality. The sign actually says the owner “would rather starve and close the store” than selling to that group of people.

“Dear Trump supporters,” the sign reads. “I am truly sorry, however I feel unclean and dirty accepting money from you. Please, politely shop somewhere else. Sorry, I would rather starve and close the store than participate in wrongdoing. Many blessings to you. I hope you understand.

You can check out the sign below.

The owner took to Facebook again to clarify his position after the sign accumulated a ton of backlash, according to Cleveland 19.

“Let me be very clear this is not a ban,” Joe says. “I am asking people to make a choice. There is a difference between asking and telling. I am not refusing service to anyone.”

Despite his intentions, Joe’s decision came with a heavy backlash.

“I did not do this for attention,” Joe says in a story with the Hill. “I have posted things before about President Trump, so I didn’t expect this response.”

That said, many people have taken the owner’s latest policy to various social media platforms.
