The NextVR app is finally available on the platform.
NextVR finally came to Steam, giving more people access to its sports and entertainment broadcasts of virtual reality. The program offers NBA, NHL and ICC soccer games, as well as WWE matches, concerts and stand-up comedy shows, which are much more interactive than the typical online or TV versions. It gives people a way to look at events from different perspectives-
The software’s Steam version works with Oculus Rift, HTC Vive and Mixed Reality devices for Windows. NextVR launched an app iteration for the Rift late last year, and the Vive and Windows Mixed Reality headsets have been supported longer. Its arrival on Steam means that users don’t have to download it from the app stores of headsets, such as Viveport from HTC, which used to be infamously buggy.
David Cole, NextVR CEO, said in a statement:
“NextVR is driven to engage the largest possible audience to experience our content in virtual reality. Steam is a critically important platform to reach active virtual reality users. We’re excited to put our unparalleled live sports and entertainment experiences at the fingertips of the vibrant Steam user-base.”
